Nevada City, CA — The Nevada City LIVE! concert series returns to the historic Nevada Theatre this winter with a rich lineup of concerts, tributes, and community-centered performances that celebrate original music, literary voices, and the enduring power of live performance. Running from mid-January through mid-February, the series showcases local favorites, nationally recognized artists, and special collaborative events that reflect the creative spirit of Nevada City.

The series opens on Friday, January 16 at 7:30pm with a double bill featuring Honey of the Heart & BrightSide Blue, setting the tone with harmony-driven songwriting and roots-inspired sounds. The following night, Saturday, January 17 at 7:30pm, brings BuckStar to the Nevada Theatre stage, promising an energetic evening of original music and heartfelt performance.

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the series presents a FREE community concert on Monday, January 19 at 7:30pm, featuring Dance Because. This special event is offered with donations accepted at the door, inviting the community to gather, reflect, and celebrate through music.

The following weekend highlights local creativity with Cousin Cricket – Para-Sight Records Sampler, running Friday, January 23 and Saturday, January 24 at 7:30pm, and Sunday, January 25 at 2:00pm. This multi-show engagement spotlights artists connected to Para-Sight Records and underscores Nevada City LIVE!’s commitment to nurturing regional talent.

On Friday, January 30 at 7:30pm, audiences can experience Souvenirs – Celebrating the Music of Dan Fogelberg, a loving tribute to one of America’s most enduring singer-songwriters. The celebration continues on Saturday, January 31 at 7:30pm with Juliet Gobert & Las Niñas Muertas, offering a dynamic blend of global rhythms, storytelling, and original compositions.

The series then turns to the timeless songwriting of Bob Dylan with I Shall Be Released – Songs of Bob Dylan on Sunday, February 1 at 2:00pm, honoring a catalog that has shaped generations of musicians and listeners alike.
On Friday and Saturday, February 6 & 7 at 7:30pm, Nevada City LIVE! presents O Mother Gaia: The World of Gary Snyder, an immersive performance inspired by the renowned poet and environmental thinker, whose work is deeply rooted in the Sierra foothills.

In cooperation with the Nevada City Film Festival, the series continues on Sunday, February 8 at 2:00pm with What’s in a Name: Local Literature Lurking in a Lucid Landscape, a program celebrating regional writers and the stories embedded in place.

The winter season concludes on Sunday, February 15 at 2:00pm, bringing the series to a thoughtful and resonant close.
