NEVADA CITY, Calif. July 3, 2024 – The new Nevada County Grand Jury was sworn in today by Judge Scott Thomsen in the Board of Supervisors Chamber. Many of the jury members are returning for a second year of service to the community.

The Grand Jury may examine all aspects of special districts, county, and city government to ensure that the county is being governed efficiently and that monies are being handled appropriately.
Requirements for a Grand Juror
- US citizen
- At least 18 years of age
- County resident for at least one year
- Read and write English
- Not currently serving on a trial jury
- Not currently an elected official
- Not a public agency board member
- Never convicted of a felony
