4-H club officers, members, and adults from the Placer and Nevada County 4-H Programs had the opportunity to come together at Magnolia Intermediate School on September 25 for the annual Bi-County Officer Training. Youth 4-H club officers learned about their elected positions and participated in hands-on facilitation sessions as the officers prepare for the new 4-H year.

4-H is an organization for youth ages 5-19 that promotes hands-on, experiential learning. 4-H is a place where young people develop positive relationships, leadership, and skills for life. In 4-H, youth can make friends and share interests, ranging from rocketry to raising rabbits, from small engines to gardening. Youth work together to make a positive difference in their community and adult volunteers make a powerful difference in the lives of young people.

Nevada County 4-H clubs are now open for sign-ups. The Nevada County 4-H Youth Development Program serves Nevada County through programming offered by seven local 4-H Clubs. The age requirement for youth to participate is at least 5 years old, but no older than 19 years old, by December 31, 2021.
