Under the direction of Rob Metcalfe, the production represents months of dedication, collaboration, and personal growth for Nevada Union’s student performers and technicians. Reflecting on the impact of theatre education, Metcalfe shared:

“After over 25 years of producing high school theatre, I have come to see participation in a play as a modern-day rite of passage. This experience is powerfully transformative, and its value for the individual is not to be underestimated. It is inherently stressful, emotionally challenging, and incredibly time-consuming. It exposes fears and insecurities that stretch comfort zones to extreme limits. But through this, students learn much about themselves and marvel at what they are able to accomplish. They form bonds with the other participants, and by honoring their commitment to the group, they create a strong sense of community. We truly thank you for attending this performance, for it is through the larger community’s celebration of this effort that our young actors feel validated and persevere in their journey of growth.”

With countless rehearsals and an extraordinary commitment from students and staff alike, Little Women: The Musical promises an evening of moving storytelling, beautiful music, and inspiring performances that celebrate both classic literature and the transformative power of the arts.
