Northern Sierra Swimming jumped into summer with back-to-back meets.

First NSS attended the DART Long Course meet on June 2nd. Swimming against the Almaden Riptide, California Capital Aquatics, DART, Napa Valley Swim Team, and the Pacific Sea Lions Swim Team.

The day was breezy and warm, perfect racing weather. The swimmers had a blast and enjoyed the short four-hour timeline. They had some great things going with their strokes and racing. The coaches want to remind them to take a moment to pat themselves on the back, we see the improvement.

The following weekend NSS participated in the 26th annual Summer Sanders LCM meet June 7th – 9th 2024. The meet is hosted each year by California Capital Aquatics and named after former CCA swimmer and 1992 Olympic gold medalist Summer Sanders. The meet is open to youth and adults with qualifying times, often drawing athletes working towards Olympic trials times. This year athletes ranged in age from 11-34.

Wow! We had some amazing swims this weekend down at the Roseville Aquatics Complex. John, Siena, Lucas, Allie, Lily, Alyssa, and Elaine ALL made finals and swam some best times! Our swimmers had some really smart, strong races. Elaine broke six team records – 200 Free, 200 IM, 1500 Free, 400 Free, 800 Free, 200 Fly AND got her first Sectional Cut!

Coach Jack did some racing of his own. Swimming Sectionals cuts in both the 100 fly and 50 free.
