Grass Valley, CA – The victim involved in the previously reported disturbance on Glen Meadow Dr. sadly passed away from the injuries she sustained on Aug. 22, the same day the incident occurred.
The suspect, identified as the victim’s son, allegedly shot his mother before fleeing from her Grass Valley residence. Deputies located the subject a short time later, and following a brief pursuit, the suspect took his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The investigation thus far supports this was an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to public safety.
The identities of the mother and son will be released after next of kin notifications are complete.
All road closures have been lifted. This incident remains under investigation.
Nevada City, CA – On Aug. 22, 2025, Nevada County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) deputies responded to a reported disturbance on Glen Meadow Dr. in Grass Valley. Upon arriving, they found a victim suffering from major injuries that required immediate medical attention. The victim was transported to a Placer County hospital.
A description of the suspect involved in this incident was provided and NCSO deputies located the subject operating a motorcycle. After a short pursuit, which concluded at the intersection of Squirrel Creek Rd. and Adam Avenue, the subject took his own life due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Deputies and fire/EMS personnel provided life-saving measures to the subject, but he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Road closures remain in effect on Glen Meadow Dr. and at the intersection of Squirrel Creek Rd. and Adam Avenue. An update will be provided when the roadways are reopened
