PG&E is conducting a planned power outage on Tuesday, September 23 so a very large hazard tree can be removed safely. The outage will impact 665 customers in unincorporated areas of eastern Nevada City and Grass Valley, from about 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The 125-foot-tall Ponderosa Pine tree off of Banner Lava Cap Road just west of Madrona Way will be removed in sections with tree crews using a high-reach bucket truck.
PG&E has notified impacted customers by letter, email and automated phone calls. The outage area includes portions of Banner Lava Cap Road and Idaho-Maryland Road and neighboring streets.

PG&E crews will conduct temporary lane closures along Banner Lava Cap Road near Madrona Way between 6:30 and 8 a.m. to set up to de-energize the power lines and again between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. to set up to re-energize customers. One-way traffic controls will be in effect.
