December 21, 2025 – A series of atmospheric rivers will bring widespread moderate to heavy precipitation and isolated thunderstorms through the holiday week. Flooding expected in susceptible urban and low-lying areas, including small streams and creeks. Periods of gusty southerly winds through mid-week. Strongest winds today, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Sunday-Tuesday: Moderate to heavy rain, high-elevation mountain snow (above 7000 ft), and gusty southerly winds are expected. The strongest winds of the period will be this morning, before trending weaker later this afternoon.

There will be two brief breaks in precipitation: one Monday morning and another late Tuesday morning, before the next round of precip arrives.

Wednesday-Friday: Heaviest rain and snow of the week, with the highest impact days being Wednesday and Thursday.

High snow levels through Tuesday, gradually falling mid-week with the potential for major holiday travel impacts over the passes due to the combination of heavy mountain snow and strong winds. Snow levels 5000-6000 ft.

Gusty southerly winds Wednesday & Thursday, with the strongest winds on Thursday.ย
