Registrar of Voters Natalie Adona encourages all voters to submit their ballots as soon as possible rather than waiting until Election Day, Nov. 5.

“Of course, you can vote on Election Day, but you might consider voting early. Voting early not only ensures that your voice is heard but also helps avoid last-minute issues like long lines,” Adona said. “By submitting your ballot early, you help us to process votes more efficiently and ensure quicker election results.”
Ballots were mailed Oct. 7. Voters may return their ballots in the mail or use drop boxes available throughout the county. For locations and hours, visit www.NevadaCountyCa.gov/November5Election. Voters may also vote in person at the Nevada County Government Center, 950 Maidu Ave. in Nevada City or Truckee Town Hall, 10183 Truckee Airport Road, during regular business hours. Those who have not received ballots should call the Elections Office at 530-265-1298.
Among the choices voters are asked to make this election are selections for candidates for President, U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, state Senate, state Assembly, Grass Valley City Council, Truckee Town Council, numerous school and local boards, 10 state propositions and three local ballot measures.
Oct. 21 is the deadline to register to vote and receive a ballot in the mail. Register to vote at registertovote.ca.gov. Those who miss that deadline may still vote in the election but will have to conditionally register and vote in person at one of the county’s vote centers.
