According to the National Weather Service in Sacramento, monsoonal moisture will again bring the risk of afternoon/evening isolated showers/thunderstorms today over the Sierra crest (20-40% chance) and over the Coastal Range (10-20%) today. A few lingering showers/thunderstorms are possible over the Sierra crest on Monday, mainly south of I-80.
A Red Flag Warning for the Sierra above 6,000 feet is in effect until 8 PM tonight and through 11 PM tonight for the northern Coastal Range as fuels are very dry and lightning strikes could cause new fire starts.
