GRASS VALLEY, CA – A Nevada County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) Special Investigations Unit (SIU) detective arrested an alleged drug dealer—seizing 1.1 lbs. of suspected cocaine and 57 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

The events unfolded on the afternoon of Aug. 19 when the NCSO SIU detective stopped at a carwash in Grass Valley. While there, the detective spotted 40-year-old Jennifer Lynn Dietrick, of Grass Valley. The detective, who was a patrol deputy with the Sheriff’s Office prior to becoming a detective, had arrested Dietrick for past drug offenses and knew her to be on court-ordered pretrial supervision with search and seizure conditions.
The detective approached Dietrick, who complied with the search terms for her vehicle. She was also forthcoming that a motorhome parked nearby was hers, and it too was subsequently searched.
The detective uncovered the 1.1 lbs. of suspected cocaine and 57 grams of suspected methamphetamine, pills identified as Trazodone, along with other drug paraphernalia and suspected illegal substances that will undergo testing for identification.
Dietrick was arrested for multiple drug-related offenses, including possession of a controlled substance (11350(a) HS); possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell (HS 11351 and HS 11378); and unauthorized personal possession of certain controlled substances (11377(a) HS), all in violation of her pretrial terms. She was booked into Wayne Brown Correctional Facility with a $100,000 bail.
