What do Minecraft, a Ghost Town Haunted Mine, Candy Land, Mario Bros., the Olympics and arcade games have in common? They are some of the themes picked for this year’s Halloween Spooktacular by county departments. We got a sneak peek at some of the decorations awaiting ghosts and ghoulies of all ages. Also, mountains of candy!

Welcome Trick or Treaters to the Halloween Spooktacular

With possible rain showers forecast on Thursday, indoor trick-or-treating sounds even more appealing. So, how do they do it?

The Rood Center was a hive of activity this weekend with county employees transforming their departments into amazing themed displays. Some enlisted assistance from students like Nola Hood and McKenna Williams from NU who helped create Candy Land.

To be clear, all the work, decorations and candy are donated by the county employees, your tax dollars did not pay for a single lollipop or skeleton.

Some departments kept their decorations under wraps, we’ll discover them with all of you on Thursday. Meanwhile here are few more photos of what awaits everyone. Once you are done exploring the Rood Center, there’s more!
