Grass Valley, CA — Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital invites the community to a powerful and moving evening with a special screening of the award-winning documentary What Lies Inside on Monday, May 12, at the historic Del Oro Theatre in downtown Grass Valley.

This poignant film explores the often-hidden impacts of trauma and the journey of healing—both personal and communal. The evening will include a live Q&R (Question & Response) session with the film’s director, Luke Renner, and his son Sam Renner, offering a unique and heartfelt perspective behind the story.

Doors open at 5:30 PM, with the screening beginning promptly at 6:00 PM.

What Lies Inside

“This event reflects our shared commitment to building a more trauma-informed, compassionate, and resilient community,” said Brian Stoltey, Director of Mission Integration and Community Health at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. “We’re honored to bring this experience to our neighbors, caregivers, and partners.”

The screening is free and open to the public, made possible through the generous support of the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Hospital’s Community Benefit Program. While RSVPs are not required, they are appreciated to help ensure a smooth and welcoming experience.
