Join the South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL) on Wednesday, April 23 for their annual State of the Yuba address at the Gold Vibe Kombuchary in Grass Valley. State of the Yuba is SYRCL’s free, open to the public report to the watershed community. It’s also an invitation to take action for the river.
Each spring since 2013, in celebration of the Yuba River watershed, SYRCL hosts State of the Yuba. Hear from SYRCL’s team about the condition of the river, SYRCL’s vision for the future, education and volunteer opportunities, current projects, challenges, recent successes, and more ways to get involved.
At the event, attendees will have the opportunity to interact directly with SYRCL staff and ask questions about all our programs. SYRCL will also be honoring their Volunteer of the Year, Sponsor of the Year, and Partner of the Year.
Additionally, SYRCL’s Education Department will be on hand to announce this year’s Environmentalist of the Year Scholarship Award Winner.
SYRCL’s Executive Director, Aaron Zettler-Mann, will also be remarking on the State of the Yuba, SYRCL’s successes, challenges, and how the organization will be moving forward into the future.
“It can be hard to keep up with everything that SYRCL does across all of our departments,” says Zettler-Mann. “Our State of the Yuba event is a great way to engage with the breadth of work we are doing, connect on a deeper level with the team working on what you’re most passionate about, find out about our policy and education programs, learn about upcoming volunteer opportunities, meet up with friends, and make new connections among our vibrant river loving community.”
The open house will start at 5:30 and showcases SYRCL’s programs and education and volunteer opportunities. The speaking portion of the program will begin at 6:30.
SYRCL invites everyone, including SYRCL members and supporters, river lovers of all kinds, and anyone interested in learning more about SYRCL’s programs to attend the State of the Yuba.
The State of the Yuba is an excellent opportunity for you to learn more about SYRCL and find out how you can get involved in the stewardship of this magnificent river.
