Yuba County, CA – On December 18, 2025, at approximately 6:00 a.m., the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a fire in the area of Parks Bar Road near Smartsville. Information provided to dispatch indicated that a person may have been inside the fire.
Fire personnel extinguished the fire, and a deceased individual was located at the scene. The circumstances surrounding the death are considered suspicious, and an active investigation is underway.
At this time, the identity of the deceased has not been determined.
