Sunday June 16th at 0528 am crews were dispatched to a smoke check in the area of Coyote St and North Bloomfield. NCPD was in the area and assisted crews with locating the fire. The fire was located in a transient camp above the USFS building. When the fire was located it was approximately 50×50. Final fire size was .12 acres.

Cause was determined to be Human and a cooking fire. The fire remains under investigation. The City Grass Valley and Nevada City was the lead agency on the fire. Assisting agencies were Cal Fire and Nevada County Consolidated.

Friday June 14th at 1932 crews responded to a fire in the Hirschman’s Pond area of Nevada City. Crews located the fire and were able to contain it to less than 1/2 acre.
The fire department determined it to be human caused and the fire is still under investigation. The Grass Valley / Nevada City Fire Department was the lead agency and Cal Fire and Nevada County Consolidated assisted.
