On Monday, June 30, 2025, the local Yuba-Sutter Veteran Services Office located at Yuba County Health and Human Services invited the veteran community to meet the staff, tour the office and enjoy lunch.
The new Veteran Services Officer (VSO), Joel Ceja, introduced himself to the community and answered questions from veterans and community partners regarding the services provided through the Veteran Services Office and his vision for the future.

Mr. Ceja has a passion for supporting veterans to obtain the benefits they have earned and plans to modernize the way in which the office interacts with local veterans.
Ceja says, “Our goal is to continue to provide the best service possible to our veterans, their families, and the veteran community. Although some of the staff that work in our office has changed, the mission has not. Our goal is to retain the trust that was built by years of hard work and tireless effort and continue to assist in getting benefits that our veterans have earned through their Honorable service to our country.”
This informal luncheon represents the first steps toward showing local veterans that the department is ready to take a more conversational tone toward improved services. Yuba County Health and Human Services proudly supports Mr. Ceja as he begins getting to know and support our local veteran community.
