Yuba County, CA – The Yuba County Superior Court is now accepting applications for the 2026-2027 Civil Grand Jury. Residents have until March 27, 2026, to apply for this unique and powerful opportunity to serve their community.

The Civil Grand Jury is one of the most impactful ways citizens can participate directly in local government. Made up of 19 dedicated Yuba County residents, the Civil Grand Jury serves a one-year term, with the possibility of holding over for another year, acting as an independent body that reviews and evaluates local government operations, ensuring accountability, transparency, and responsible use of public resources.

This is not a courtroom jury. Instead, Civil Grand Jurors work collaboratively to:

  • Review local government agencies and departments
  • Investigate citizen complaints
  • Evaluate public programs and services
  • Issue reports with findings and recommendations that strengthen the community
  • Serving on the Civil Grand Jury offers a rare, behind-the-scenes look at how Yuba County operates – and a meaningful chance to make a lasting difference.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must:
Be at least 18 years old
Be a resident of Yuba County
Be a United States citizen
No special legal or government background is required – just integrity, open-mindedness, sound judgement, and commitment to public service.
