Bolton, MS & Wilson, WY, May 1, 2022—Chairman Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) and Vice Chair Liz Cheney (R-WY) today announced that the Select Committee has requested cooperation from three additional members of the House of Representatives to provide information for the committee’s investigation into the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol and its causes. The Select Committee is seeking information from Members of Congress who were either involved with or had knowledge of the events on and leading up to January 6th.
Chairman Thompson and Vice Chair Cheney issued the following statement:
“The Select Committee has learned that several of our colleagues have information relevant to our investigation into the facts, circumstances, and causes of January 6th. As we work to provide answers to the American people about that day, we consider it a patriotic duty for all witnesses to cooperate. We urge our colleagues to join the hundreds of individuals who have shared information with the Select Committee as we work to get to the bottom of what happened on January 6th.”
The Select Committee is seeking information from Members of Congress including those who participated in meetings at the White House and had direct conversations with President Trump leading up to and during the attack on the Capitol and those who were involved in the planning and coordination of rallies on and before January 6th.
The Select Committee sent letters to the following House members:
