Join the South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL) on Wednesday, April 17 at the annual State of the Yuba address at the Gold Vibe Kombuchary in Grass Valley. State of the Yuba is SYRCLโ€™s free, open to the public report to the watershed community. Itโ€™s also an invitation to take action for the river.

2023 State of the Yuba

Each spring since 2013, in celebration of the Yuba River watershed, SYRCL hosts State of the Yuba. Hear from SYRCLโ€™s team about the condition of the river, SYRCLโ€™s vision for the future, education and volunteer opportunities, current projects, challenges, recent successes, and more ways to get involved.

At the event, attendees will have the opportunity to interact directly with SYRCL staff and ask questions about all our programs. SYRCL will also be honoring their Volunteer of the Year, Sponsor of the Year, and Partner of the Year.

Additionally, SYRCLโ€™s Education Department will be on hand to announce this yearโ€™s Environmentalist of the Year Scholarship Award Winner.

The open house will start at 5:30 and showcases SYRCLโ€™s programs and education and volunteer opportunities. The speaking portion of the program will begin at 6:30.

โ€œThe State of the Yuba is SYRCLโ€™s annual open house event,โ€ says SYRCLโ€™s Executive Director Aaron Zettler-Mann. โ€œSYRCL is united for the Yuba, and at our core are the people who love and care for it. This event is an opportunity to learn about all the different work SYRCL does and find what speaks to your values. Whether youโ€™ve been with SYRCL since our founding or are just discovering this place, our education, science, film, restoration, or advocacy work will inspire you to join us as united for the Yuba.โ€

SYRCL invites everyone, including SYRCL members and supporters, river lovers of all kinds, and anyone interested in learning more about SYRCLโ€™s programs to attend the State of the Yuba.

The State of the Yuba is an excellent opportunity for you to learn more about SYRCL and find out how you can get involved in the stewardship of this magnificent river.
