Following notification made today to next of kin for the S. Yuba River @ Bridgeport Drowning incident from 7/4/24 – we are now able to release the decedent’s identification as 24-year-old Yonatan Josue Munoz, a Nicaraguan National living in San Francisco, Ca.
The Nevada County Coroner’s Office is releasing the following identification information for three drowning victims from three separate tragic waterway incidents over the 4th of July Holiday Weekend:
7/4 13:58 hrs S. Yuba River; Hwy 49 at Hoyts Crossing
Victim: Nieto-Hernandez, Enrique; Male, Age 26, from Yuba City
7/4 14:59 hrs, S. Yuba River; 17660 Pleasant Valley Dr. Penn Valley (Bridgeport)
Victim: 24-year-old male, Nicaraguan National living in San Francisco *Identity withheld pending notification to next of kin*
7/5 16:30 hrs, Scotts Flat Reservoir, near Dam.
Victim: Rangel-Avila, Juan Carlos; Male, Age 29, of Reno
