Grass Valley, CA – It starts with you! Community Beyond Violence (CBV) is excited to announce its upcoming Crisis Intervention Training (CIT), a transformative 65.5-hour, state-mandated training designed for those who want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
What would you do if you suspected a family member or close friend was experiencing harm in their relationship? How would you react during a crisis involving domestic violence, or if someone confided in you about being a survivor of assault? These are just some of the critical topics we will explore in our upcoming Crisis Intervention Training, starting on Saturday, February 8.
This training will be held in-person at Community Beyond Violence in the Wellness Room.
This training offers:
- Essential Knowledge: Learn how to support survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking effectively and compassionately.
- Career Advancement: Fulfill state-mandated requirements to volunteer or work in this impactful field, whether you’re a student seeking credits or a professional aiming to provide trauma-informed care.
- Community Impact: Domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking affect individuals and families across our community, creating ripples of harm that impact us all. By participating in this training, you’ll gain the tools to not only
support survivors but also be part of a collective effort to create a safer, more compassionate community.
“Our mission at Community Beyond Violence is to heal the trauma of sexual assault and domestic violence by providing crisis intervention, safety, advocacy, and education to survivors and our community,” said Marah DeFlavia, Community and Healthcare Activities Coordinator at CBV. “This training not only empowers individuals with the knowledge and skills to support survivors but also moves us closer to our vision of a future free of interpersonal violence—a culture where everyone in our community lives in safety and dignity.”
