Western Nevada County, CA — September, 2026 — Community Beyond Violence (CBV), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of intimate partner violence and creating safer communities, is celebrating an exciting new chapter with the opening of its new office space in Nevada City.
Community members, partners, supporters, and local leaders are invited to join CBV for a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, September 10, at 4:30 p.m. at 208 Providence Mine Road, Suites 219–222, Nevada City, CA 95959.
The new office space provides CBV with a welcoming and functional home for its growing team and programs while allowing the organization to continue strengthening partnerships and expanding its impact throughout Western Nevada County.
“This new space represents an important milestone for Community Beyond Violence,” said Kirsten Dees, Board President of Community Beyond Violence. “It gives us a place to come together as a team, connect with our community partners, and continue building a strong foundation for the future. Most importantly, it reflects our commitment to ensuring that survivors have access to compassionate, comprehensive support right here in our community.”
Community Beyond Violence works closely with community partners to provide survivors with the best possible services and support as they navigate their recovery. The organization also works with the County, courts, and law enforcement to advocate for positive change in the systems that perpetuate intimate partner violence.
In 2025, CBV provided 1,099 services to survivors, answered 1,149 crisis line calls, served 773 survivors, provided 3,416 nights of emergency shelter, and facilitated 4,585 counseling sessions. The organization also provided legal advocacy, including restraining order assistance, to hundreds of survivors.
“Our work is only possible because of the incredible network of community partners, donors, volunteers, and supporters who believe that everyone deserves to live free from violence,” said Allison Bischofberger, Executive Director of Community Beyond Violence. “This new space gives us an opportunity to build on that support and look toward the future with renewed energy and purpose.”
