] Local doctors, health care professionals and health-minded people are teaming up to create a 2nd Health and Wellness Expo for the Grass Valley community. Sponsored by the Grass Valley Seventh-day Adventist church, this free Health and Wellness Expo will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2023 from 1:00- 4:00pm at 12889 Osborne Hill Road, Grass Valley CA 95945.
Ophthalmologist at Sierra View Medical Eye, Cheri Leng, MD says, โIn ophthalmology, the eyes are often the windows into oneโs health, and we see the result of long-term lifestyle diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure causing serious vision loss.
Many of these conditions can be prevented and reversed before they cause end-organ damage, but often there is a missing link between knowing we need to eat better/exercise more and learning how to actually incorporate it into your life. Weโre hoping this health expo helps with that link.โ
Dr. Mark Heinrich, emergency medicine physician at Oroville Hospital says, โpeople assume that loss of muscle is inevitable as you age. But the truth is, you can actually build muscle after 50 with the right diet and exercise.โ He will be sharing exercise tips and demos at the interactive exercise station.
Come get a health screening and visit the different stations to learn practical tips on improving your exercise, nutrition, and mental health. You donโt have to have a gym membership to stay healthy! Eating healthfully doesnโt have to be boring! Come learn practical advice on meal preparation and taste some easy, nutritious recipes. Get some relief for your aching muscles with a free chair massage! Win prizes aimed at helping you stay healthy! Admission is free and no prior registration necessary.
