Nevada City, CA – There’s nothing like Christmas in Nevada City—and this year, Sierra Theatre Company is sprinkling a little extra magic on the holiday season with On Air: a 1940s Holiday Revue! Performing December 11, 13, 16, 17 only, this original, limited-run musical delight will take place at the historic Nevada Theatre in downtown Nevada City, CA.
Set on Christmas Eve, On Air is 1940s-style radio-theatre musical featuring your favorite holiday songs, colorful commercials, and a look into the people and personalities of The Sierra Singers, a fictional group of crooners. As the broadcast unfolds, an unexpected turn of events sparks the troupe to lean on their creativity, camaraderie, and the spirit of the season. They even find that a little bit of holiday magic carries their music farther than any of them had anticipated.
“On Air is my love letter to the golden age of radio and ’40s movie musicals—those bright, big-hearted stories where music, humor, and hope carried audiences through uncertain times,” said writer an director Christi Colombo. “In that same spirit, this show celebrates the joy of creating together, the magic of live performance, and the resilience of theater folk. My hope is that this little slice of nostalgia fills your holiday season with warmth and cheer.”
