For the 24 hr. detection period from Friday 6:00 am to Saturday 6:00 am 10,117 strikes were recorded within California. 1,181 strikes were detected within the National Forests.
The National Weather Service in Sacramento forecasts isolated thunderstorm chances in the afternoons and evenings over the Sierra and the Shasta County mountains to day and Sunday.
The first active strike for the TNF occurred Friday afternoon at 2:02pm, the last active strike at 2:47pm, all downstrikes were on the Sierraville Ranger District.
