All evacuation warnings are lifted and all roads are open. Fire suppression teams are actively engaged working around the fire perimeter and affected areas. Now that residents are allowed to go home, please drive careful as emergency personnel are still working throughout the fire area. One firefighter injury has been reported.

Containment continues to improve due to the aggressive work of firefighters. All evacuation warnings are lifted and all roads are open. Fire suppression teams are actively engaged working around the fire perimeter and affected areas. Now that residents are allowed to go home, please drive careful as emergency personnel are still working throughout the fire area.
Effective today, June 26, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. – the Evacuation Warning for the communities of Ponderosa Sky Ranch and Paynes Creek are lifted. This includes the areas south of Highway 36, north of Plum Creek Road, west of Little Giant Mill Road and east of Paynes Creek / Plum Creek Road.

Containment continues to improve due to the aggressive work of firefighters. All evacuations orders have been reduced to evacuation warnings. All road closures have been lifted and residents may return to their homes. When entering the area, please be cautious of emergency equipment and personnel as they are operating in and around the area.

Evacuations remain in effect with continued threat to structures and power lines. Firefighters continue to build and reinforce containment lines around the fire. Steep, rugged terrain paired with the hot and dry temperatures make firefighting efforts difficult. Ground crews, with air support, continue to actively engage in suppressing spot fires around the perimeter of the incident.

Continued evacuations in effect for the communities of Ponderosa Sky Ranch, Paynes Creek and Plume Creek. The threat remains to structures and 500 kV power lines. Long range spotting has been observed. A Red Flag Warning for strong winds and low humidity continues in the fire area. A CALFIRE Incident Management Team is assigned.

CAL FIRE estimates the fire now at 2,500 acres. Evacuations in effect for the community of Ponderosa Sky Ranch, Paynes Creek and Plume Creek. The threat remains to structures and 500 kV power lines. Long range spotting has been observed. The Red Flag Warning for the fire area will remain in effect until 8:00 pm tomorrow. A CALFIRE Incident Management Team has been ordered.

The fire is located on Hwy 36 East in Paynes Creek. Fire is burning with a moderate rate of spread and is threatening structures, power lines and the Inskip Lookout.
Winds in the fire area are gusting at about 20mph.
