Phase 1

This phase went into effect on August 27, 2020. This phase included residents who live in the areas West of Interstate 80 from Lyon Road to Vaca Valley Road, including Vaca Valley Road. Gates Canyon Road will remain closed.

Phase 2

Today, August 28, 2020 phase 2 has gone into effect and includes the area north of Vaca Valley Road up to Cantelow Road and from Pleasants Valley Road to Gibson Canyon Road. Cantelow Road from Pleasants Valley Road to English Hills Road will remain closed. Mix Canyon Road will remain closed.

The following road closures will remain even after phased reopening. Road closure removal will be determined at a future date. Access will remain restricted due to road damage, utility needs and falling trees.

CAL FIRE has released a map of properties damaged and destroyed within the LNU Lightning Complex Fires. The map includes a list of damaged and destroyed structures provided by CAL FIRE’s Damage Inspection Teams. Damage inspections, including locations, are preliminary and numerous sites still require confirmation. The CAL FIRE Damage Inspection teams are working as quickly as possible to supply the needed information to those that were evacuated during the firestorm. CAL FIRE Damage Inspection teams were deployed to the fire zones early on during the fires to start the identification process. You can find the link to the map here

Fire behavior remained extreme today with long range spot fires reported. Fuels remain critically dry. Re-population is occurring where safely possible. Continued threat to structures and evacuation orders and warnings remain in place. Threats exist to numerous communities, endangered species, cultural sites, watershed, major power transmission lines, natural gas storage facility, private timberland, recreational areas, and multiple sites of critical infrastructure including CAL FIRE repeaters. Multiple highway and road closures. CAL FIRE IMT-2 (Kavanaugh) in command.

Hennessey Fire (Merged Fires – Gamble, Green, Aetna, Markley, Spanish, Morgan, Round): Hennessey Ridge Road in Napa County, California. The fire is currently 299,463 acres and 29% contained.

Sonoma County:

Significant fire growth is expected throughout the rest of the operational period. Extreme fire behavior with short and long range spotting are continuing to challenge firefighting efforts. Fires continue to make runs in multiple directions and impacting multiple communities. Weather forcast through Tuesday August 25, 2020 is calling for dry lightning and thunderstorms that could cause erratic winds, extreme fire behavior within the existing fires, and have a potential for new fires to start..

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office has issued an EVACUATION ORDER for residents living in and around Hidden Valley Lake and Jerusalem Valley areas of Lake County due to a Wildland Fire. This includes residents living North of Butts Canyon Rd, South of Hofacker Ln to Morgan Valley Rd, East of Hwy. 29 and West of the Lake/Napa County line. Residents are advised that there is an IMMEDIATE threat to life and property from a wildfire, and are urged to evacuate. Please leave the area. If you are in need of shelter please proceed to a Temporary Evacuation Point (TEP) that has been setup at the old airstrip off of Hwy 53 in Clearlake. You are asked to stay in your vehicle and wear masks when you arrive at the TEP. A shelter is being established and you will be directed to the shelter by staff at the TEP.

By evacuating early, you do your part in keeping yourself, your neighbors, and our first responders safe. Multiple fires have merged on the north side of Lake Berryessa into the Hennessey Fire, and continue to actively burn with critical spreads and is moving into large areas of timber.

Extreme fire behavior along with long range spotting, continues to challenge suppression efforts. Threats to multiple sites of critical infrastructure including CAL FIRE repeaters, private timberland, watershed areas and several recreational areas, and to endangered species and cultural sites. Evacuation Order:

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office has issued an EVACUATION ORDER for residents living in and around Hidden Valley Lake and Jerusalem Valley areas of Lake County due to a Wildland Fire. This includes residents living North of Butts Canyon Road, South of Hofacker Ln to Morgan Valley Rd, East of Hwy. 29 and West of the Lake/Napa County line. Residents are advised that there is an IMMEDIATE threat to life and property from a wildfire, and are urged to evacuate. Please leave the area. If you are in need of shelter please proceed to a Temporary Evacuation Point (TEP) that has been setup at the old airstrip off of Hwy. 53 in Clearlake. You are asked to stay in your vehicle and wear masks when you arrive at the TEP. A shelter is being established and you will be directed to the shelter by staff at the TEP.
