No fire growth has occurred since August 3rd as crews continue to mop-up. This will be the final report on the Marsh Fire unless a significant change occurs.

The increase in acreage was due to better mapping of the incident with minimal fire behavior occurring overnight.

Firefighters continue to make good progress on three separate fires comprising the Marsh Complex. Today’s focus will be on reinforcing containment lines, mopping up hot spots and area patrol.

Per Contra Costa: Road closures UPDATE: Morgan Territory Rd is now open. Marsh Creek Rd remains CLOSED between Morgan Territory and Deer Valley, except for residents in the area who can go home with valid ID.

Marsh Creek Rd and Morgan Territory Rd west of the community of Brentwood (Contra Costa County) Firefighters continue to mop up and construct fire line around the fires. The complex is currently 75% contained.

Per Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office: Shelter In Place Still in Effect South of Clayton – Marsh Creek Road between Morgan Territory Road and Deer Valley Due to Fire
This is a message from the Contra Costa Fire Protection District and the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff.
There is currently a Shelter In Place due to a fire along Marsh Creek Road. People on Marsh Creek Road between Morgan Territory Road and Deer Valley Road are advised to Shelter In Place in the nearest place of safety.
Go inside, and close all windows and doors. Stay off the phone and do not call 911 unless you need to report a life-threatening emergency.
Stay indoors, unless you receive further official instructions.
