Hot, dry and windy conditions are expected across much of the region through Tuesday. Fire and utility personnel continue mop up and suppression repair activities. They will remain in the area for some time. Please use caution when driving in the effected areas.

Mandatory evacuation orders remain in effect for certain areas that have been impacted by fire. However, the City of Santa Rosa and County of Sonoma have begun to allow residents to return and visit specific damaged and destroyed areas, this is known as controlled limited reentry. Residents must provide a form of ID for reentry.

Recent rain kept moisture over the fire area helping firefighters hold containment lines and perform mop up and suppression repair activities throughout the night. The Damage Inspection teams are continuing their assessments and the structure totals will be reflected as the teams confirm their findings. Fire personnel will begin to leave the area and prepare for the forecasted weather even in other parts of the State.

The County of Sonoma and the City of Santa Rosa are opening a Local Assistance Center (LAC) in partnership with FEMA and the California Office of Emergency Services (CalEOS) Saturday, October 14th.

The Central LNU Complex is being managed in Unified Command by CAL FIRE Incident Management Team 1 and The City of Santa Rosa. As of 0800 this morning, Central branch will be assuming all fires in Sonoma County.

Expected wind shifts are still in effect for today as there is a Red Flag Warning until 5:00p.m. Additional resources will help support fire mitigation across the Sonoma region.

Sonoma County Sheriff issues mandatory evacuations in Geyserville. The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office is issuing mandatory evacuations in Geyserville. This area extends on Highway 128 east to River Rock Casino. South on 128 to Geysers Road up to Cal Pine.

The Central LNU Complex is being managed in Unified Command by CAL FIRE Incident Management Team 1 and The City of Santa Rosa. The complex is comprised of the Tubbs Fire and the Pocket Fire. Both fires continued to remain active. Firefighters are working in environments with downed powerlines, hazardous conditions and drought stricken trees. Increased onshore flow brought minor relief with slightly cooler weather, although we experienced an increase in fire activity due to light winds in the afternoon hours. Red Flag conditions are expected to continue through early Thursday morning.
