The Ranch2 fire continued to burn actively throughout the night. Fire fighters are prioritizing to secure the perimeter along Mount Cove community and Highway 39. Power poles along Highway 39 were impacted, which has prompted Edison to shut off power, impacting 300 residents. Heavy smoke has made it difficult to determine the northern and western progression of the fire and visibility from Rincon/Redbox and Van Tassel is about 1/4 – 1/2 mile. The steep terrain coupled with the heavy smoke is making access difficult for personnel. There are currently limited resources assigned, however orders have been placed. Fire activity is expected to increase with today’s forecast.

Evacuation orders for the Mountain Cove community have been lifted.
