Although Summit Fire crews have stopped forward progress and are holding containment lines steady, Unified Command announced that Evacuation Warnings remain in effect for Zones LAC-E107-A and LAC-E127-C, and road closures will stay in place until further notice. This cautious approach ensures public and crew safety amid incoming winds, potential interior fire behavior, and a heavy presence of emergency vehicles.

While all Evacuation Orders were downgraded Sunday and no further fire growth is expected, active winds mean residents may still see localized smoke and brief interior flare-ups well within the established burn area. Meanwhile, CAL FIRE Damage Inspection (DINS) personnel are safely accessing cleared zones to validate structure counts, and officials thank the community for their continued cooperation as personnel work to fully secure the area.

Cooler overnight conditions allowed firefighters to strengthen containment lines and improve defensive positions, helping to slow the fire’s spread. Crews continue to attack active fire while protecting homes in threatened areas. Hot, dry weather persisted today, with temperatures near 100 degrees, single-digit humidity, and gusty ridgetop winds creating the potential for rapid fire growth and active fire behavior.
