The Forbestown Fire is 58 acres and 95% contained with crews checking for any remaining hot spots. Damage assessment continues, and we want to remind the public to drive carefully and watch for heavy equipment and large vehicles near the fire.

As night falls over the fire, crews on the ground continue working to establish control lines and remove hazard trees. The fire remains at 58 acres and is 75 percent contained. Work will continue through the night and into tomorrow.

CAL FIRE/Butte County Fire: Accurate mapping from the air has led to a sharp increase in acreage. Crews are in heavy mop up in areas with poor access due to steep, rough terrain. The fire is within the burn scar of a fire from two years ago, so there are many dead and hazardous trees, which are being removed by certified fallers.

Firefighters are mopping up, numerous resources will remain on scene for several hours. All aircraft have been released from the fire.

IC reports the fire is holding at 8 acres. Retardant line around the fire is complete, hoselay and handline about 50% around the fire. Helicopters will remian on the fire, all tankers have been released.
