Hirschdale, 2 miles east of Hirschdale on I80 in the Truckee area.

Per Truckee Fire: Truckee Fire, CALFIRE, US Forest Service, responded to a wildland fire near Hirschdale at approximately 6:00 pm. Resources have contained the fire to 2 acres, but with terrain and winds it had potential to grow to 9-10 acres Additional apparatus onscene included Air Attack, two Air tankers, additional engines from CALFIRE and Northstar Fire along with two hand crews, a dozer and overhead personnel from Truckee Fire and CHP. Fire is currently under investigation. Always be prepared for evacuation, go to readyforwildfire.org for more information. There is no threat to the Truckee or Hirschdale area.

Mop-up operations are underway. Firefighters will remain on scene through the evening. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Air Attack 230 has been released from ythe Hirschdale fire, returning to Grass Valley.

Hirschdale IC is releasing some resources staging at the Hirschdale off ramp. Two Washington Ridge crews and one dozer are needed, all others can return to their stations. Air Attack has released Tanker 89 back to Grass Valley.

Smoke has greatly diminished, traffic on I80 is no longer impacted.

Resources on scene include Truckee Fire, CAL FIRE and TNF. Hirschdale IC just authorized reopening of the UP tracks, for now only slow roll.

Firefighters are making good progress. The fire is burning in steep terrain, near the Truckee River.

Hirschdale IC requesting the ETA for an additional helicopter. ECC states approximately 20-25 minutes. All ground resources en route are to stage at the I80 Hirschdale off ramp.

Light wind on the fire. Currently the fire is confined between the river, the railroad tracks and I80. IC asks all units to continue responding.

North side of the river access is off the Hirschdale Bridge. IC reports approximately 1/2 acre on the north side, burning in grass and brush.

Incoming units from the west side are using the Hirschdale off ramp. Fire is reported on both sides of the river.
