Fire crews worked throughout the night and have gained 85% containment of the fire. They continue to put out hot spots and smokes within the interior of the area of the fire and expect to be working in the area for 2-3 days. The final acreage mapped at 5 acres.

Per CAL FIRE AEU: Fire fighters have stopped the forward progress of the fire at approximately 7-8 acres in heavy timber and gained 50% containment. Fire crews will continue to strengthen control lines and mop up hot spots throughout the night.

Air Attack says the fire is looking pretty good, inquiring with the IC if they can release some additional tankers. There are retardant lines around all of the fire, they will reinforce the lines at the head of the fire.

New start, just east of Georgetown on Hotchkiss Hill Road. Reported as 2 acres burning at a moderate rate of spread, one outbuilding destroyed. This will be the Hotchkiss Fire.
