Excellent progress was made over night building containment lines and making the area safe for residents to return to their homes. Evacuees returning to residences are urged to use caution and yield to public safety vehicles and crews. Fire crews remain in the area mopping up smoldering brush and hot spots.

Firefighters worked through the night and made great progress building containment lines. Fire managers are evaluating the fire area for public safety to get people back into their homes as soon as possible.

Vegetation fire in grassy oak woodland. Fire crews are working through the night and making good progress. Forward progress of the fire has been stopped. More resources are on order to help crews with containment lines.

Some areas of Amador County are experiencing heavy smoke due to smoke drift from the Irish fire burning outside of the Ione area. Amador County Public Health advises community members that air quality may be unsafe for those with sensitive medical conditions. Residents with chronic health conditions, young children, pregnant women and elderly adults should especially be aware and take protective measures.

Immediate need for additional engines, the fire is bumping the retardant lines at Willow Creek Road pretty hard. Additional air resources, preferably Type 1 tankers ordered to the fire. No divert on all aircraft on the fire.

Numerous aircraft assigned to the fire, including heavy air tankers and several helicopters. Firefightres are making progress and providing structure protection for homes in the Willow Creek subdivision.
