Jack IC instructs the handcrew to take Purdon Road then Tyler Foote to get to the incident. Firefighters are making good progress on the fire.

Battalion reports they can cancel prevention, it appears to be an escaped campfire.

The handcrew will be utilized to cut a line around the fire. Prevention officer requested to the fire, the cause of the fire is under investigation.

CAL FIRE Battalion Chief in the area, IC reports they have a wetline around the fire and forward progress has been stopped.

Units are staging on Jackass Flats, those unable to make access to the fire due to the size of their rigs are being released back to their units. There is no threat to structures or road closures but expect to encounter fire equipment on Tyler Foote.

Jack IC reports the fire is in heavy brush and understory, slow rate of spread. They should be able to handle it with the resources assigned.

Canceling the balance of incoming resources, including the water tenders due to no access. IC estimates no aircraft needed, Tanker 88 who is now over the fire is returning to Grass Valley.

Firefighters have made access to the fire, it is burning at a slow rate of spread, backing into the drainage. Two additional Type 3 or Type 6 engines requested due to the narrow access. The handcrew will have to hike in.

Firefighters have found a dirt trail of Jackass Flats Road, not accessible for most engines. Incoming resources to stage on Jackass Flats while some will scout on foot.

Firefighters have trouble making access to the fire from Jackass Flats. The fire is estimated at 1/4 or 1/2 acre with some build to the column.

Firefighters are on the San Juan ridge, responding to a smoke check. They have located a possible vegetation fire in the area of Jackass Flats and Tyler Foote Crossing, 1/2 mile before Grizzly Hill School. Augmented response en route now.
