All evacuations and road closures have been lifted. There is still fire equipment in the area, so residents should be cautious when driving.

Road closures: Crystal Springs Road, Crystal Springs court, Glenwood Drive, Superior Drive, Pony Express at Crystal Springs Road, 8 Mile Road in affected area, Highway 50 open with controlled traffic. As of 6:00 pm, except for Meyers Rd, all evacuations and road closures are lifted.

All aircraft is off the fire, extensive mop-up operations and overhaul of structures is underway.

El Dorado High School has released the following information:
A vegetation fire has closed Highway 50 in both directions in El Dorado County. The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office said evacuations were underway along 8 Mile Road in Camino. This has affected our bus routes in the District and will prohibit our ability to return students home safely. If your student rides either bus route 10 or 11, please pick your student up at EDHS in the Multipurpose Room.

Air Attack is releasing one of the tankers back to Grass Valley, all large air tankers have been released.

Road closure update: US-50 still closed. Eastbound at Camino, Westbound at Sly Park.

Alternate route is Pleasant Valley/Sly Park.

Pony Express is closed at Carson and at Ridgeway.

NO ONE is allowed through the closure except emergency personnel.

Air Attack reports the still visible smoke is from interior burning (within the containment lines) and destroyed structures. The fire is looking good otherwise.

El Dorado County Sheriff’s deputies are still assisting residents to safely evacuate, with their pets and livestock. Please do not attempt do return to the area.

Thanks to the progress made on the fire, one lane in both directions on Hwy 50 will be reopened at 2:30 pm, barring any flareups.

A fast moving vegetation fire in Camino is prompting evacuations on Eight Mile Road. Hwy 50 is closed in both directions, the fire is burning on both sides of the highway. Eldorado National Forest and El Dorado Sheriff, with numerous resources incoming are on scene. This will be the Meyers Fire.
