All resources originally assigned to the fires have been released with the exception of two Camptonville and one CAL FIRE engine. Mop-up is ongoing, the fires will have to be checked tomorrow.

IC reports two fires total, mapped at 0.8 acres. Both fires are contained.

The IC is releasing some of the initial attack resources and heavy equipment.

Update from the IC estimates the fire at 10 acres. Releasing two dozers after they completed their line. Some of the local resources will be relieved by a state strike team. Handline, dozerlines are in.

Resources on the fire include: CAL FIRE, US Forest Service, Camptonville Fire, Pike City Fire, North San Juan Fire, Grass Valley Fire, Nevada City Fire, Nevada County Consolidated, Foothill Fire and Marysville Fire.

Hoseline around the fire is progressing well. CHP is looking for a vehicle possibly connected to the incident, per a citizen report a car was driving southbound towards North San Juan/Nevada City at the time of the incident.

ICP (Incident Command Post) is at Marysville Road and Hwy 49, Battalion 2312 is Pike IC (Incident Commander) Latest size-up puts the fire at 5-10 acres – estimate only.

CAL FIRE strike team forming up to relieve the local resources. Meanwhile, firefighters on scene are starting line construction on the left flank of the fire.

The total acreage for the Pike Fires has been scaled back to approximately 10 acres. Mapping will occur once the fires are contained or at daylight.

Water tenders and dozers assigned are sufficient at this time. Tahoe Hotshots are on scene and will start cutting line towards the head of the main fire.

At this time, there are no evacuations requested. CHP is on scene at Hwy 49 and will help Yuba County Sheriff’s Office with notifications if needed.

Fire activity has greatly moderated per the IC. Knockdown has been achieved on several of the starts. At this time, no additional resources are being requested. The remaining fires are in very steep and inaccessible terrain, with heavy fuels.

The fires are burning in heavy fuels at a moderate rate of spread. Good work during initial attack per the IC.

Additional water tenders en route to the fire. CAL FIRE, US Forest Service and local agencies are working to contain the fires. The cause of the fires is under investigation.

Firefighters are on scene of multiple fires on Pike City Road in Camptonville. Immediate threat to structures. Large resource order being placed. Incoming units are staging at Cleveland and Pike City.
