The cause of the Pleasant Fire has been determined to be an escaped debris burn – with the burn ban in effect since last week. An animal carcass and debris in a burn barrel escaped control of the property owner.

All aircraft are back at the GVAAB and available for the next incident. Mop-up is underway on this fire. Two Washington Ridge crews will be on scene for several hours, together with multiple engines.

Forward progress has been stopped, firefighters are working to reinforce the line around the fire. No threat to structures.

Tanker 88 is returning to Grass Valley, can be available for the new fire in the Lincoln area. Tanker 89 is still over the fire but can be released if necessary.

IC is requesting one additional crew, will be able to release the dozer in about 10 minutes. Good progress on both flanks.

IC reports the tanker drops have taken out a lot of heat from the head of the fire, hoseline around approximately 50% of the fire. No evacuations at this time. Dozer has arrived on scene and is beginning to cut line.

There are no road closures in effect, but please watch for numerous engines and fire apparatus on Pleasant Valley Road.

IC reports 3 acres, grass into brush, two engines working one flank. Fire is spreading into heavier fuels. Air Attack and a tanker are over the fire. Air Attack is requesting Tanker 88 to respond to the fire as well.

Pleasant IC reports approximately 2 acres in grass and brush, burning at a moderate rate of spread. All resources on order are to continue to the fire.

First units have arrived on scene, requesting Air Attack, one dozer and a crew to report to the fire. Captain 5602 is now the Pleasant IC.

Penn Valley and North San Juan Fire are responding to a possible vegetation fire in the Pleasant Valley Road area. Fire in a field, possibly threatening one outbuilding. No other structures in the area.
