There has been no significant growth on the fire yesterday as the winds have calmed down over the fire area allowing crews to secure and strengthen fire lines for containment. Pockets of heavy fuels continue to burn on the interior of the fire. For Firefighter safety, specialized equipment has been ordered to mitigate the hazard tree snags left from the 2014 King Fire.

Fire remained active throughout the night and strong winds and snags are hampering containment efforts. A Red Flag Warning is in effect for gusty winds and low humidity. Threat to high value timberland.

Point IC reports they have sufficient resources at this time. They are picking up spots on the west side of Nevada Point Road and making progress with line construction.

Per Eldorado NF, the response includes 7 engines, 3 water tenders, 3 hand crews, overhead resources and additional aircraft on order. IC responds the fire is holding within the old burn unit. These are slash piles on fire. Some spotting is still occurring, IC is requesting a total of 3 dozers.
