Smoke from the grass fire is widely visible in the Grass Valley/Penn Valley area area. There are no road closures and no evacuations.

Incident Commander reports the fire is burning uphill, towards a house. Hose line is being put in place. The dozer still en route is to stage on Rough&Ready Highway at North Ponderosa. Units currently assigned to the fire should be sufficient to handle.
