The cause of the fire is allegedly a car with mechanical problems that caught fire (catalytic converter.) The driver managed to get the car off the bridge apparently.

The hoselay is tied in around the fire, firefighters are working on lateral lines now. Releasing some of the resources staged at the Rood Center.

Engines are staging at the State Parks parking lot of the crossing and on Purdon due to the very narrow road. Some resources staging at the Rood Center

Lake Vera Purdon Road will be closed at B4 Ranch Road. On the North San Juan side, Purdon Road will be closed at Murphy Road.
