Engines are being released back to their stations. Here is the crew of the CAL FIRE Helicopter from Columbia. They were assigned to the Ravine incident in Colfax and arrived at scene shortly after the fire was reported. Thanks to reader Heidi for sharing the photo with us, taken on her parents’ property on B4 Ranch Road.

Hoseline is completed around the fire, releasing some resources back to their stations. No reports of injuries to firefighters or recreationists.

Firefighters are mopping up, cause is still under investigation. All Aircraft leaving the fire.

Firefighters are making good progress. Forward progress stopped under 1/2 acre.

Helicopter is working small spot fires. NCSO deputies, approximately 8, are at the river.

Air Attack 17 (TNF) over the Purdon Fire. Aircraft are over the fire, engines still waiting for recreationists to get out. Nevada County Sheriff’s deputies are in the area, helping with evacuations from the river

Fire is staging at B4 Ranch Road, there is a lot of traffic coming out of the canyon – recreationists fleeing the river.

Fire on Purdon is reported to be the size of a car, along the roadside. It is on the Nevada City side of the river
