Sierra Air Attack is releasing both tankers from the incident. The fire is holding and good progress is being made. Helicopter 205 is flying to Grass Valley to refuel.

The fire started at the bottom of the slope, right at the Direct Protection Area line. Unified command with Cal Fire. Estimated full containment in approximately 2 hours.

Air Attack reports the fire to be approximately 5 acres, low to moderate rate of spread, midslope on the north and east side of the drainage. Appears to be near an old logging unit. Potential for 15-20 acres. The fire is in the vicinity of Sailor Point, near the North Fork Campground.

New coordinates put the Sierra Fire on the Tahoe National Forest. At this time, lookouts are calling in the approximate location, no resources on scene yet. Aircraft will be up soon.
