Fire transitioned to a Type 4 local management organization Tuesday morning Containment is 97%. Crews will continue to mop up perimeter of fire and rehab fire lines and fire area. Updates will only be in the evening from now on. Once the Table fire is 100% contained the updates will discontinue.

Fire will transition to a Type 4 local management organization Tuesday at 8 am. Containment is 85%. Crews will continue to mop up perimeter of fire and rehab fire lines and fire area. Off- forest resources will be demobilized tonight. Updates will only be in the evening from now on. Once the Table fire is 100% contained the updates will discontinue.

Containment has reached 65%. Fire is now 465 acres due to tactical firing operations that brought fire to containment lines. Over the next 12 hours crews will continue to mop up perimeter of fire and begin rehab of fire lines and fire area.

No significant changes last night. Fire remains at 420 acres. Smoke is expected to be visible again today. Containment percentage will be updated tonight after 6pm briefing. Fire growth due to easterly winds that are expected to continue into Sunday.

The fire grew to 420 acres today, due to a strong east wind, which prevented crews from carrying out tactical firing operations for most of the day. Smoke was visible throughout the afternoon. Winds decreased in the afternoon and crews were able to begin tactical firing operations at 5:30 p.m. The night crew will continue mopping up overnight along the perimeter of the fire.
Due to the hazards (terrain) to firefighters, firefighters are using indirect tactics; such as, making indirect check lines along the creek where they can’t build line directly along the fire’s edge and engaging in direct fire suppression on the north side. Crews completed the northern containment line and prepared the indirect lines on the east, west, and south sides of the fire over the last few days. They started tactical burning operations on the northeast corner to remove fuel between the prepared line and the fire’s edge. On Friday, firefighters continued the tactical burn operations. This will continue through the weekend as conditions allow.

Fire remained in control lines last night with no spot fires occurring. This morning crews are mobilizing to continue tactical firing operations, which are expected to bring the fire down to containment lines today.

Smoke: The Table fire is visible from Highway 50 and possible the Lake Tahoe Basin. Expect increased amounts of smoke during the tactical fire operations. Once the firing operations brings the fire’s edge down to the containment line the smoke will reduce. There will still be smoke for a while as interior pockets continue to burn up.
Weather: The fire is in a sheltered location so the predicted winds on Saturday are not expected to have a significant effect.
Threats: The fire is in remote country and not threatening any structures.
Road/Area Closures: No closures. Be aware of fire traffic on the Wrights Lake tie road.
Note: This is a lightning start from a previous storm that Sunday’s high wind event activated.
