Firefighters are reinforcing containment lines, extinguishing hotspots. Mop-up operations and backhauling equipment will go on through the evening. Please watch for fire equipement leaving the incident.

Despite the difficult access, the fire is being held at 2 acres. Tankers are returning to GVAAB to refuel.

IC is requesting 2 additional engines to help with mop-up. Containment is at about 40% with a wet line. All resources will be committed well into the evening. Both air tankers have been released back to Grass Valley.

There are no evacuations at this time. Firefighters are doing a great job at building line and Helicopter 514 is working hotspots. Please do not attempt to “go have a look.”

Fire is on the south side of Deer Creek, firefighters will traverse the Lake Wildwood campground to access the fire. Estimated at 2-3 acres now, burning at a moderate rate of spread.

Smoke from the Wildwood incident is over Pleasant Valley Road, please reduce your speed and use caution. The fire is about 1/2 acre, moving uphill at the moderate to rapid rate of spread. Second air tanker on order and one additional helicopter.
