Little Den, Carson City District, BLM. Forty-five miles southwest of Austin, NV. Timber, brush and grass. Minimal fire behavior with single tree torching, creeping and smoldering. Sage-grouse habitat threatened.

Very dry air is impacting the fire due to poor to very poor humidity recovery at night.

Progress was made on the fire yesterday. Fire behavior was minimal with some single tree torching. Otherwise the fire is smoldering and creeping. The fire has the potential to move in the Pinyon-Juniper along the southeast edge of the fire. Fireline re-enforcement is still active. Crews are mopping up and patrolling the lines. Hoselays deployed in the heavy fuel types to eliminate remaining heat near the fire edge.

The fire is now estimated at 2,000 acres and 20% contained.

Per SFID: The fire is about 1800 acres and is burning in sagebrush, grass and pinion-juniper.

The fire started at 10:30 this morning. No estimate of containment or control.

Resources: 3 Air Tankers, 2 helicopters, 3 hand crews, and 7 engines Total Personnel:140

Firefighers are actively engaged in anchoring and flanking the fire.

The fire is burning in an old fire scar and is expected to move toward the east tonight toward the western slope of the Desatoya Range.

No structures in the area.
