Freedom for Immigrants Featured In ‘Orange Is The New Black’

LOS ANGELES, CA, July 26, 2019 — Freedom for Immigrants is excited to be featured in the latest season of the Netflix hit show Orange Is The New Black.

“We are incredibly grateful to the actors, writers and producers of Orange Is The New Black for including Freedom for Immigrants and highlighting our work and the work of our volunteers in the final season of the show,” said Christina Fialho, attorney and co-founder/executive director of Freedom for Immigrants. “OITNB has truly revolutionized the way we think about mass incarceration by elevating the stories of those individuals on the inside, not portrayed as mere statistics but as humans. It is our hope that elected officials and the public are able not only to learn from the reality reflected on screen, but most importantly, feel empowered to help change it.”
