Washington, DC, March 15, 2018 – Today, Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke faces the House Natural Resources Committee as his list of scandals continues to grow with the breaking news last night that he is using private email to conduct official business.

In the past, Zinke has been widely critical of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s email practices, remarking at CPAC in 2016, “I don’t know why we asked the State Department for Hillary’s emails, we should have just asked Putin,” posting on Facebook, and blasting the FBI for not filing criminal charges against Clinton.

In response, Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune released the following comment.

When Zinke isn’t racking up scandal after scandal, he’s either lying to Congress or leading the largest rollback of protections for public lands and waters in America’s history — and that’s only what he hasn’t hidden in his private emails. This man is wholly unfit to serve the American people, and Zinke and his scandal-ridden tenure should be put to an end immediately.
